Q: What is the best way to use the beEternal moisturiser? Should I wash my face first?
A: The shortest answer is to Just Use It. beEternal moisturiser is safe to use on all parts of your face and neck, even the delicate eye area. Use your regular cleansing regime and then apply beEternal moisturiser or serum, using gentle upwards and outwards motions. If you don't already have a cleansing regime that you are happy with, we recommend simply using a clean, soft face cloth and warm water. Be careful not to over-cleanse your skin as this throws off the balance of natural oils. Use beEternal products as needed on face, neck and decollatage. It will be absorbed and start working in seconds.
Q: What is the difference between the beEternal Moisturising Cream and the Eye and Facial Serum?
A: Both are good for all skin types, very gentle and effective. One difference is the texture or consistency. The moisturising cream is a light, silky-textured cream while the eye and facial serum is more like a thick liquid. They are made with different essential oils so this affects their function and their scent. The serum has a distinct tightening effect on your skin after application. The tightening effect of the cream is less noticeable. For this reason many people use the serum at night, before bed, like a face-lift while you sleep, and then use the moisturising cream during the day. It is a perfect "layer" under your make-up application.
Q: How long before I see results?
A: You should feel results immediately. You should see minor results within days and more significant results over time. The results are cumulative so the longer you use Beeternal products, the better you will look. It took years for your skin to show signs of ageing. It stands to reason that it will take some time to reverse the effects.
Q: Are beEternal products all-natural?
A: The short answer is YES. beEternal products are made with natural ingredients, many of which are organic. We do not use any chemicals, petrochemicals, mineral oils paprabens, artificial fragrances, perfumes, colourings or preservatives. You will find much more on this topic in our BLOG section.
Q: Why is it such a big deal to have "NO Chemicals" in cosmetics?
A: Some chemicals, all too commonly used in cosmetics and skincare products, are known to be carcinogenic (cancer-causing). Other chemicals are endocrine disruptors. This means they mess with your hormones, especially estrogen. There are other issues with other chemicals, but the two categories listed above are the really nasty ones in regards to skincare. As a rule of thumb, read the ingredient labels and stay away from ingredient lists that read like a Chemistry textbook.

Q: Are beEternal products organic?
A: Many of our ingredients are certified organic. Some are not certified organic, though they are grown under spray-free, sustainable conditions. Becoming “certified organic” is a long and expensive process that all growers are not always able to afford or may only be partially through the process of becoming certified. beEternal products are always made with pure and healthy ingredients and are always free from chemicals, petrochemicals, mineral oils, paprabens, artificial fragrances, perfumes, colourings or preservatives.
Q: Do you test your products on animals?
A: No. They have been tried and tested on ourselves and other willing friends, family and human guinea pigs - never actual guinea pigs, rodents, primates, canines or other unwilling subjects.
Q: Why is Manuka honey such a big deal? Aren't all honeys the same?
A: All honeys are not created equal. In our case, we are looking for therapeutic properties. In this regard, New Zealand Manuka honey is the clear winner! Manuka honey from New Zealand is produced by bees gathering nectar from the native, Leptospermum scoparium. It is the incredible antibiotic performance of Manuka honey that is beneficial in skincare – as well as medical applications.
Q: How do you get the venom? Do the bees die?
A: NO BEES ARE HARMED IN THE MAKING OF THIS PRODUCT. The premium Manuka honey industry is dependent on the bees so it is not in a bee keeper’s best interest to kill the bees. The venom is collected on a glass plate that has electrodes running over it carrying a mild electrical charge. The bees don’t actually like this too much so they sting and leave their liquid venom on the glass panes. They do not lose their barbed stinger so they do not die. The venom is then dried in the sun and the resulting powder is scraped off and mixed with high quality Manuka honey. No chemicals are needed, just clean New Zealand sunshine.

Q: I've heard the term, "Apitherapy". Is that bee therapy? Do you have to get stung?
A: Apitherapy is, indeed, bee therapy. It is actually therapy that uses all Honeybee products, including honey, pollen, propolis, royal jelly and bee venom. Honeybee products can be ingested or used trans-dermally. Apitherapy is undergoing a resurgence, at present, due to considerable research on the benefits of bee products. Much of this research is due to the recognition of the therapeutic properties of New Zealand’s Manuka honey in the last 30 years. Luckily, you do not have to actually get stung (anymore) to gain the benefits of Apitherapy. Practitioners and patients have been known to undergo bee stings to gain the anti-inflammatory benefits of the melittin, however; now that there is a technique to gather venom, we can achieve the benefits without the pain.
Q: I've heard that it is better to have cosmetics in glass jars rather than plastic. Does it actually matter?
A: Yes! There are 4 main reasons WHY it matters:
- Protect the packaging. This may sound funny, but beEernal products are top quality and the pure ingredients, especially the pure essential oils, are the best for your skin, but could actually deteriorate the plastic if stored in plastic containers for long periods of time. This could cause “crazing” in the plastic and allow air to enter and compromise the antioxidant qualities.
- Protect the product. Glass does not let any oxygen enter the product. Additionally, it does not break down. Plastics can break down and leach plasticisers.
- Eliminate deterioration from outside elements. Glass is impermeable so no air will get in to cause oxidation. At beEternal, we only use cobalt blue glass jars and bottles. The dark colour of the vessels guard against light, heat and moisture as well, keeping your cream as fresh and potent as possible. This is especially important as we do not use any synthetic preservatives.
- Glass is great. It not only feels and looks great, but it can be recycled multiple times. Our beautiful cobalt glass jars are hard to throw away, however. If you ever get to the point where you have a few collected, use them to store jewellery or pins or anything. One customer said she was going to sterilise them and use them to store her spices in…perfect idea!
Q: Did I read that you referred to your Blue Glass jars and bottles as “therapeutic”? Can you explain this?
A: Sure. This relates to the philosophy of colour-therapy. Colour therapy is an ancient holistic practice of using colours to improve mental and physical issues. The belief is that light passes through the coloured glass and leaves the contents of the jar or bottle with certain properties, depending on the colour. Blue, especially cobalt blue, is associated with rest, relaxation, sleep and recovery. It is also said to decrease blood pressure and heart rate and relieve nervousness and stress. These properties are perfect for helping skin regenerate.
Q: What size are the products? It is hard to tell from the photos.
A: We use generously sized jars and bottles. Our Moisturising Cream comes in a 60g/2.12oz size. Most competitors use 30-50g size jars, making ours 20-50% bigger for a comparable cost. Our Eye & Facial Serum is in a 30ml/1.01oz bottle making it 50% bigger than many other companies' 15ml size.
Q: How long will a jar of cream last?
A: Well, it depends on the quantity and frequency of use, of course. With generous once/day use, an average would be 2-3 months. The serum would probably last a bit longer used once/day.

Q: What advantage is there to having homeopathics in your products?
A: Homeopathics are used in beEternal products to bring about balance. The remedies are used to balance emotional, mental and physical aspects of the whole person. We hope to help balance not only your skin, but your well-being.
Q: I am a big fan of homeopathic practices, but aren’t they quite an “individual” thing?
A: That is a great question and is an area of skin care that we are currently developing. The remedies that we currently use are more about skin, in general. We are in the process, however, of developing beEternal Bespoke Skincare. This will be a process whereby we consult with the customer and develop a product exclusively for them.

Q: I like your logo. Is there a special meaning behind it?
A: Absolutely! We are very New Zealand-proud. We are proud to produce a fantastic, effective, luxurious product that gives credit to a very special place in the world. We are proud to create a product that will help all people who use it to look and feel better about themselves. We are proud of the Maori heritage of New Zealand and wanted to create a symbol that represents this ethos.
- The Bee. The bee had to be represented since the Bee Venom and the Manuka Honey come from the amazing Honeybee, feeding off the native Manuka flowers in New Zealand’s pristine bush.
- The Double Twist as the body of the bee. The double twist is the Maori symbol for the joining together of people and/or cultures for eternity. We have poured our heart and soul into our products and are honoured that you have decided to share that with us.
- The Classic Eternity/Infinity Symbol as the wings of the bee. This classic symbol means slightly different things to different cultures. It represents the path of life, an endless journey, timelessness and the lucky number 8. At beEternal, we think so much of this symbol that we built it into our name.
- The Crown. Well, who wouldn’t want to be the Queen?
Q: I see you do free worldwide shipping with no minimum purchase. That seems too good to be true. What’s the catch?
A: No catch! We are a new product attempting to launch ourselves into a very crowded market. As part of our initial promotion, we have used a portion of our marketing budget to subsidise the shipping costs to help us get noticed and make it more attractive to new customers. We have committed to this until 2017, so take advantage of this opportunity and ORDER NOW!
