So…bee venom? Legitimate treatment or hoax? Find out here.

How and why does it work?
When you apply your beEternal moisturiser or serum, your brain is tricked into thinking it has been stung. It registers the tiny amount of melittin, which is the toxin in the venom, and starts a repair and renovation plan. It immediately sends blood to the area and your skin begins production of collagen and elastin. Collagen strengthens and tightens tissue while elastin, which is a protein, helps skin stay firm and supple. You will feel a slight tightening within minutes, yet your skin will feel hydrated and nurtured. You should see visible result within a few weeks. The results are cumulative so the longer you use it, the better the effects will be over time. As with all skincare products, it is recommended to do a patch test.
Ever heard the term “Apitherapy”? Apitherapy is bee therapy that uses all Honeybee products, including honey, pollen, propolis, royal jelly and bee venom and dates back centuries. It is now considered an “alternative” therapy, but even the Western medical community is recognising what others have known for years…that it really works! Apitherapy is undergoing resurgence, at present, due to considerable research on the benefits of bee products taking place at Victoria and Waikato Universities in New Zealand. Luckily, you do not have to actually get stung (anymore) to gain the benefits of Apitherapy. Practitioners and patients have been known to undergo bee stings to gain the anti-inflammatory benefits of the melittin, however; now that there is a technique to gather venom, we can achieve the benefits without the pain by ingesting the bee products or using them trans-dermally.
